The Savory Stir-Fry Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 kg Sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
Soy sauce
Cornstarch
Vegetable oil
1 ForestFoods Pak Choi, leaves separated and sliced into bite-sized pieces
1 ForestFoods Chilli - Hot Bell, deseeded and sliced
2 cloves Garlic, minced
1 inch Ginger, peeled and minced
1/2 Onion, diced
Steamed rice, for serving
Instructions:
Prepare the Beef: In a medium bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes. This tenderizes the beef and adds depth of flavor.
Prepare the Vegetables: While the beef marinates, wash and chop the Pak Choi and Hot Bell Chilli. Mince the garlic and ginger, and dice the onion.
Stir-Fry the Beef: Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until it's browned and cooked through (about 3-4 minutes). Remove the cooked beef from the wok and set it aside.
Stir-Fry the Vegetables: Add another tablespoon of oil to the wok if needed. Add the minced ginger, garlic, and diced onion, and stir-fry until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Add the sliced Hot Bell Chilli and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes. Finally, add the Pak Choi leaves and stir-fry until just wilted (about 1-2 minutes), retaining a slight crispness.
Combine and Finish: Return the cooked beef to the wok. Pour in 2 tablespoons of soy sauce (or more to your preference) and toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
Serve: Serve the stir-fry immediately over a bed of hot steamed rice.
